E-mail a Patient

Patient e-mail greetings will be printed, folded and delivered three times daily Monday-Friday and twice daily on weekends at both MeritCare hospital locations. You do not need to specify the hospital or room number. MeritCare staff will deliver the message to the appropriate location.

  • Please note:
    Your e-mail is like a postcard that will be viewed by the MeritCare staff who will print and deliver it to the patient. Please do not include confidential information.
  • E-mail cannot be delivered to:
    • emergency room patients
    • patients having outpatient procedures or diagnostic testing
    • patients not listed in the hospital directory by choice.

Undelivered Messages

There are several reasons that your e-mail may not be deliverable (e.g., the patient is not at a MeritCare hospital, has gone home, or has chosen to not be listed in our directory). We will notify you if your message is not deliverable. However, to protect patient privacy, no explanation can be given.
