Our therapists assist patients in getting back on their feet as quickly and safely as possible. They work in conjunction with doctors and athletic trainers to provide the best outcome for the patient.
Speech Therapy
Speech-language pathology is the evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing problems. Our speech pathologists are qualified to evaluate and treat individuals from infancy through geriatrics.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy provides evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation for children and adults in the hospital, outpatient and home/daycare settings.

Coordinated Treatment Center
The Coordinated Treatment Center is a multi-disciplinary clinic located within MeritCare Broadway Health Center. The clinic assists primary care doctors in the management of their patients' complex health problems. Working as a team with patients and their families, our staff develops individualized treatment plans and sets goals which meet the needs of everyone involved.
Spasticity Management
This service is established to serve patients who have spasticity due to cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord injury and brain injury where function and comfort are impaired. Referral to neurology or physical medicine and rehabilitation can be a starting point for assessment and treatment plans. Additional services may include: therapy, oral medications, botulinium toxin therapy or intrathecal baclofen therapy.
Spinal Cord Clinic
MeritCare's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services has developed an outpatient service for the individual with spinal cord injury. This Coordinated Treatment Center-based program is designed to evaluate and enhance daily functional abilities. These include functions of the joint, skin, bone, nerve and muscle as well as urologic functions affected by spinal cord injuries due to trauma, tumors or structural changes in the spinal column. Specialists involved in the care may include physical medicine, urology physicians, therapists, nurses, social workers and nutritionists.
