The MeritCare Eye Department is a comprehensive and integrated combination of eye care professionals including ophthalmology, optometry and optical services. Whether you are seeking a skilled eye surgeon, a doctor for your child’s first eye exam, or help in selecting eyeglasses or contact lenses, our professional staff is ready to help.

As part of the MeritCare Health System, our staff is also able to coordinate your eye care with all your health care providers in our system to ensure both effective and efficient overall care.

CARE

Ophthalmology

You might visit ophthalmology with dry, watery eyes, blurred vision, poor night vision or because you generally don't see well. Ophthalmologists specialize in examining, diagnosing, and treating eye conditions and diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, "lazy eye" and many others.

 

Optometry

A visit to optometry might consist of a routine eye exam, a prescription for glasses or a contact lens fitting. MeritCare has several optometrists, as well as several optical shops located in Fargo and throughout the region.

 

Optical

Our optical services are built on a foundation of quality and comprehensive service. We feature a skilled and experienced staff of opticians and technical staff able to provide personal, custom selection and fitting of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
