For Patients and Families
Housing
We realize that many of our patients and their families live outside the Fargo-Moorhead area. We are happy to provide out-of-town patients and their families with a list of local hotels and other housing options.
Treatment Costs and Insurance
Most insurance carriers will cover the costs associated with inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient treatment for eating disorders. Medical assistance also covers these expenses. If you have questions about coverage, contact your insurance provider.
Clinical Research
EDI researchers are conducting a broad array of research designed to provide new information on the assessment, treatment and outcome for various eating disorders. Several of these research programs are conducted in collaboration with other universities and research centers around the country, and some offer an opportunity for patients to receive free treatment or payment for participation.
If a patient meets the criteria for a research study, we may offer them a chance to participate. However, assessment and/or treatment in our program does not require active participation in research. All participation is voluntary. If a patient chooses to participate, their information will remain confidential.
Community Education
We provide speakers who are knowledgeable about eating disorders for both professional and lay groups. Honoraria are welcomed but not required; however, travel expenses must be reimbursed.
