Family-Centered Care
At MeritCare Children's Hospital, we practice a family-centered care philosophy that makes parents an integral part of the treatment process. We will include you in all planning and decision-making for your child's care.
Throughout the process, your child will benefit from our focus on their comfort and feelings of security. For example, whether they're going to surgery, having an X-ray, blood drawn or an IV started, we use positions of comfort and distraction therapy to make the experience less frightening.
We even help kids stay caught up in school and stay connected with their classmates through our hospital tutor program. Our family-centered care philosophy provides the most advanced medical care available for each child so they can leave here and live happily ever after.
