MN Community Measurement
MN Community Measurement© is sponsored by the Minnesota Council of Health Plans, which represents eight Minnesota health care organizations. The council's membership includes organizations of various locations, sizes, care delivery approaches and provider relationships. It emphasizes comprehensive coverage, prevention and health improvement, improvements in treatment quality and effectiveness, and coordination of care.
The MN Community Measurement© is one of a number of Minnesota organizations to publicly report health care quality data. MeritCare embraces the public reporting of measures and applauds the MN Community Measurement© for their mission to seek to improve the quality of care in Minnesota. It is MeritCare's goal to meet and exceed high standards in health care and to maintain all accreditations. The information provided by MN Community Measurement© and other public reporting groups gives us the opportunity to continue to improve our systems.

MN Community Measurement© analyzes statewide health care trends, such as how Minnesota health care institutions perform in providing tests and basic treatments. It also offers information on how consumers can stay healthy, avoid illness and effectively work with medical professionals. The reports focus on the following areas:
- Asthma medication use
- Depression medication use
- Shots for children & teens
- Well baby visits
- Controlling high blood pressure
- Breast & cervical cancer screening
- Chlamydia screening

Data Source |
The findings of the MN Community Measurement© 2004 Health Care Quality Report were compiled from 2003 data from 52 provider groups, representing more than 700 clinics in Minnesota. The patient care of 52 provider groups reported on in the MN Community Measurement 2004 Health Care Quality Report were evaluated against measures that are consistent with patient care guidelines from the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement.
