Linda O'Halloran

MeritCare's Chief Nursing Officer

MeritCare is pleased to welcome Linda O'Halloran, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. She provides system-wide leadership, strategic direction and coordination for the business operations involving nursing staff. In addition, Linda provides operational expertise and focuses on the integration of care across the system. She has expertise in professional nursing practice, clinical operations, case management, and performance improvement.

Linda most recently served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. Prior to that, Linda worked at Innovis Health in Fargo as Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President of Patient Care and she held a variety of positions at Lutheran Health Systems/Banner Health, including Clinical and Quality Executive. She has also done consulting on performance improvement, case management and patient throughput.

In the late 1980s, Linda was the senior administrator for a regional cancer center in Indianapolis. She previously worked at MeritCare as the administrative director of MeritCare's Community Clinical Oncology Program.

Linda earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing and her Master of Science from North Dakota State University. She is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and an active member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Linda is passionate about the patient experience and enjoys teaching, mentoring, and working in cross functional teams.

Linda is a native of Hatton, N.D. She and her husband Tom have three grown children and one granddaughter. She resides in West Fargo.
